The Yoga
This unique retreat offers you two experienced yoga teachers, each bringing their own style and expertise. The morning yoga sessions will be a more dynamic vinyasa flow/ hatha style, and the afternoon session will be a combination of restorative yin and workshops to learn techniques that will last a lifetime. All levels are welcome, including beginners!
The Food
With 7 acres of land, you are free to wander through the grounds and relax in one of the shalas or the treehouse. Some of the grounds are used for growing fruit and vegetables, which are used in the delicious Turkish homecooked meals that reflect the local culture. Additional snacks and drinks can always be arranged - you certainly won’t go hungry! You can let us know more about your dietary requirements when you book including if you are vegan or gluten free.
The Place
Life in Dalyan revolves around the Dalyan Çayı River, on which the town is set. River boats chug up and down the river, navigating the maze of reeds. The river flows down to Iztuzu beach, a protected space as it is a nesting ground for turtles. Upriver, is the peaceful Koycegiz Lake, which is well over three times the size of Lake Windemere. This beautiful setting is framed by verdant mountains, decorated with Lycian rock tombs.
Dalyan has a fantastic array of restaurants and bars, and there are many excursions on offer. We will take you on the fabulous afternoon – noon boat trip, where we will visit the lake, mud baths and enjoy a special dinner together in the moonlight. We will also take you to a few other interesting spots and offer guided hikes for you to see more of this beautiful area.
The Teachers
Mea Jenner – Mea first discovered yoga over 16 years ago and has been a dedicated student ever since. She decided to share her passion with others almost 4 years ago, training with Banyan Gallagher in Costa Rica, and subsequently with Scott Lyons and Adele Kingham in New Zealand. Mea has been guiding playful vinyasa flow and introspective yin yoga classes both in the UK and in New Zealand for the past few years with an approach that will remind you to take nothing seriously, but everything with sincerity.
Kate Thompson – Kate is returning to the place where it all began, after training at Spectrum six year ago with Sun Power Yoga. Since then, she has taught in a number of studios in Surrey, including Akram Hot Yoga, CYC:D Studio and David Lloyd. Kate’s ‘classic’ style is a flowing yoga practice, with some longer holds to go deeper. She likes to incorporate Pilates and functional mobility techniques into her classes, to build strength and heat.
